A sightseeing day in Chester today and it’s pouring with rain. However this eases off as we head into the city. We look around the cathedral
and add two lego pieces to the model of the cathedral that is being built:
Fantastic buildings, and interesting walk around the walls. Buy a few artworks from a local gallery.
We have run out of time to get to Ellesmere Port, the journey back would just be too rushed. We have another choice to make: run the engine to keep the batteries topped up and stay in Chester, or turn around and head for a nice meal at the Cheshire Cat, which we had spotted on the way in
We turn around, but first have to reverse 200m, under a bridge, to get to the winding hole where we can turn. All under the watchful gaze of other boaters and the general public. So no pressure.
Then five locks and a few miles, and we moor outside the said Cat. Food, beer, and catch up with this blog
