We have to return the boat by 9, but no big deal as there’s only a mile to go. Except the boat is stuck and we can’t move. Despite mooring on the towpath, where the deep water is supposed to be, we were obviously on a bit of a mudbank. Reverse thrust from the engine, pushing and rocking the boat eventually got us free and we sailed home to Preston Brook.
All in all an absolutely amazing and unforgettable holiday. And completely relaxing.....mostly!
